When we think of a literacy coach, we think of a person that possesses expertise in the area of teaching. They know how to implement a successful literacy program, differentiate instruction and assess and evaluate student progress. With all this new technology and Common Core Standards however, the role of the literacy coach is changing… The successful teacher now incorporates technology into daily lessons. Therefore, the literacy coach also needs to be well educated about technology use if they are going to provide teachers with feedback on their teaching. Sometimes literacy coaching is considered seperate from instructional technology coaching, but they can actually be combined if the literacy coach has adequate training in instructional technology.
Through this blog, I will share my research, as well as own experiences about literacy coaching in a technology rich world.
